ICQ has chosen innerActive’s mobile ad platform to offer free ad-supported premium content

IM service provider ICQ has chosen innerActive’s mobile advertising network to offer free ad-supported premium content such as video, games and applications to its users, through its PC client, mobile website and mobile portal.

Integrating innerActive’s content and their in-game advertising solution will enable ICQ to provide its 42 million users worldwide with quality rich media content for free on all media platforms, according to Ofer Oved, vice president of ICQ.

innerActive is a leading premium ad network for mobile rich media content. The Israeli start up has already partnered with the leading off deck portals like Boungiorno, Fox Mobile, Cellfish, and IMImobile.

Mobile search and advertising company JumpTap secures $26 million

Mobile search and advertising company JumpTap has closed a $26 million funding round led by AllianceBernstein. All existing investors also participated in the round including General Catalyst Partners, Summerhill Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and WPP.

The funding will be used to further develop JumpTap's powerful mobile search and advertising solutions and to continue expansion of its global ad sales and operations divisions to meet increased demand from advertisers.

JumpTap's has developed search and advertising solutions that enables mobile operators to maintain a strong, sustainable position in the mobile marketing value chain, drives traffic and revenue opportunities to content publishers, and gives advertisers access to targeted customers. The company is currently reaching over 150 million mobile subscribers through partnerships with 17 mobile operators and numerous content publishers like NBC Universal and Fox Mobile Entertainment.

Founded in 2004, JumpTap is a privately-held company headquartered in Cambridge, MA, USA, with a development center in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company has recently opened new offices in Madrid, Stockholm, and New York City.

Amobee raised $12 million from Telefónica, Vodafone, Sequoia, Accel and Globespan

Mobile advertising solutions provider Amobee Media Systems has raised $12 million from Telefónica, Vodafone, Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners, and Globespan. This financing follows a previous a $15 million round of funding, bringing funding to a total of $32 million since Amobee was founded in May of 2005, according to IVC Research data.

Amobee Media Systems is providing ad-server and campaign management solution which seamlessly integrates relevant and contextual commercial messages into all types of mobile content. Telefónica through its O2 British subsidiary have begun trials of Amobee’s platform, and earlier this month Amobee partner with Vodafone Spain to insert dynamic and interactive advertisements into Vodafone’s portal, Vodafone Live! In September, Vodafone Czech Republic and Amobee announced the commercial launch of a new mobile advertising service.

Mobile advertising expected to generate $895 million worldwide in 2007 and anticipated to grow to $14.6 billion in 2011, according to Gartner. Informa forecast that worldwide mobile advertising revenues will rise to $11.35 billion by 2011.

Cellcom launched ad-funded mobile games service

Israeli mobile operator Cellcom has launched an ad-funded mobile games service, witch offers subscribers free games downloads, sponsored by top brands such as: Nokia, McDonalds, Diadora, Samsung, Adidas and Walt Disney.

The mobile game service offers Cellcom’s mobile users the opportunity to download (free of charge) mobile games, in exchange for exposure to advertisements within the games. The dynamically inserted ads are targeted and segmented in real time according to user profiles, behavior and responses. The dynamic ads are injected into the games using innerActive technology.

"Cellcom subscribers responses to the service so far exceed our expectations. It supports our new advertising model of providing mobile user with relevant, non-intrusive ads insertion during the content usage,” Added Offer Yehudai, innerActive Co-Founder and VP Innovative Products.

The world market for mobile marketing and advertising is expected to be worth about $3 billion by the end of 2007, according to a recent study from ABI Research. By 2011, the value of this market will reach $19 billion, including mobile search and video advertising.

Mobile ad-fund provider Amobee launched in-game advertising trial with Orange France

Mobile ad-fund delivery provider Amobee Media Systems has launched a commercial mobile advertising trial with European cellular operator Orange France. Brands like Coke, Saab and Societe Generale are taking part in this in-game advertising trial.

Orange France is using Amobee’s Media System to test the business model behind using advertising to help fund mobile content and entertainment services. Subscribers are offered the option of downloading a game from leading games publisher FILAO at a reduced price or for free, if they accept advertising within the game.

“The mobile industry is willing to test the role that ad-funding could play in growing the mobile entertainment market,” said Patrick Parodi, CMO of Amobee. ”Similar trials in other territories have shown high levels of user acceptance – provided that the model is opt-in and controlled by the user. We are confident that this trial will further demonstrate a willingness among mobile customers to accept advertising in exchange for discounts or additional value.”

Amobee is delivering user-centric approach to ad-fund the operators’ entire mobile content and communication business.
